Data recovery software only helps with recovering deleted files, not corrupted files. If Excel cannot properly show the file any more, you are out of luck. Sorry. I hope this will teach you how important it is to make proper backups of your personal files.

I use this program all the time and it works great. You should give it a try.

If your file is truly corrupted no tool will repair it for you, especially if the front of the file is the corrupted part. You need to maintain backups of your files as you work on them to guarantee recovery.

Data recovery tools will only recover lost files (deleted) – not corrupted ones.

So your file was corrupted? I might be sorry to say that the possibility to recover it is very low. If you want to have a try, then you should try some professional data recovery software, not only seek for the free ones.
But anyway there are top 3 free data recovery software from:

I think you need to buy a data repair software for your excel.
check this out: http://www.stellarinfo.com/excel-recovery.htm but its not free it cost you a bit.

But one think is sure you can get you excel back in normal format.

    Cheers…
