Is there any free pc software that will automatically backup data files to a virtual folder on shutdown?

Question by Andy W: Is there any free pc software that will automatically backup data files to a virtual folder on shutdown?
I have a couple of small (10meg) data files that I would like to be backed up every time I shut down my pc. Is there any free software that will do this?
At present I manually do it to a skydrive account or to an external HDD, which is fine, so long as I remember to do it!

I use GFI Backup Home Edition (free) in conjunction with a free ftp server called Drivehq (1 gb free storage) or with an external drive.

create a backup task – specify what you want to backup and where – then use the scheduler to start the backup on shutdown – very easy to set up and reliable.

If you need a free ftp server try DriveHQ

another free alternative – syncback

Q&A: Is there a way to transfer backup data from a sony ericsson to an iphone?

Question by ????: Is there a way to transfer backup data from a sony ericsson to an iphone?
Recently, my sony ericsson W580i died, and I’m going to get an iphone 3GS to replace it. I used Sony Ericsson PC suite to backup my phone before it died, so I was wondering if there was a way to transfer that backup data to my new iphone, along with the data from my sandisk memory stick?

If your Sony Ericsson hadn’t died, I’d have suggested that you sync it with Outlook which would capture your contacts & calendar. You could also have transferred the media from your memory card. It would then be an easy job to sync all this to your iPhone using iTunes.

Your backup file is probably a specific Sony Ericsson format and therefore not something that is usable, unless you can find anoher Sony Ericsson to put the data back in to.

Hope this helps.
