Belkin’s N+ Wireless Router features a USB Storage port on the back of the router for connecting USB storage devices such as an external hard drive or thumb drive to the network. Now you can centrally store and share media content and files from the USB hard drive to every computer on the network. This router also features gigabit Ethernet ports for a wired connection that can handle applications that take up a large amount of bandwidth. The N+ router is based on the draft 802.11n 2.0 technology which provides the wireless range to easily cover any-size home or office. The N+ Router has the bandwidth and speed for handling media intensive applications that take up large amounts of your bandwidth.

mac address filtering is best method
@listert2595, wireless N router wont have much effect on your PS3 other than increased signal strength.
For example, your normal wireless g router may give you a couple of bars on your signal and a wireless N would hopefully nearly double the strength.
Your wifi will only run as fast as your slowest device. N supports up to 300m wireless and G up to 54Mb realistically, the PS3 only has wireless G.
So the maximum speed the PS3 would connect wireless is 54G even on a wireless N router.
set your security to aes wpa 2 and you should see improvements
does a router like this really improve gaming?? i just don’t know how any router could do that
it is odd that this router costs over $100 and it does not perform as posters say. My DSL/modem is in the living, I am away in my bedroom with Netgear wireless adapter card in my PC, and I connect well. All your problems seem not to be the router but the DSL/Modem. Get a better DSL/modem from comcast or qwest.
I use my PS3 connected to it thou the ethernet ports on the back and works great, however i have to do this because of a poor ISP, really anything good for a computer is good for PS3s or any other console, but your ISP will effect performance greatly
@ianmill1 why is it bad i works just fine for me
With security on the wireless network will only transfer files at 25 to 30 mbps, not much better than my old wireless g does. With security off it performs much better at 140 mbps, which is about average for a wireless N router. However other routers will maintain close to the 140 with security on. It is obvious that the processing power of the router badly under powered to do the encryption for the security.

The USB port will only deliver 18 to 25 mbps no matter what I do. If I connect the same USB drive straight to my laptop I get 250 mbps. And that is with security off. That can only be the storage manager software supplied with router not performing how it should.

No matter what I tried, the suggested changing of channels made a slight difference. Moving the router to different locations, having my laptop right next to the router, moving it to 10 ft away. Everything I tried did very little to its performance. And I am very experienced with compters and dont like to be beaten.

I am very unhappy with this router and will be returning it.
I would normally just return a product that I feel doesn’t do the job, but this is the worst case of under performance in a product that I have seen in my 25 years of computing.
is this router (or any N router) good for a ps3
im using this router right now, and im 10 meters from it wirelessly and im even having trouble streaming this video, i hate it, its shit and drops wireless conection randomly.
