I recently purchased a 30GB iPod video did not work when you connect to your computer. I called Apple and the tech guy told me that we should find a driver that is missing from my computer to the USB mass storage devices. Where can I get this driver? What is your name?

i think they are called USB ports, and you could probably call the company that made your computer (call Dell if it’s a dell etc.) and ask them, they probably would have some
if that is impossible, then you probably need a newer computer
Try to do it through Control Panel | Add Hardware. Click Next and mark the radio button for Yes, I have it connected. Make sure it’s connected before proceeding. Scroll down on the next screen and at the bottom highlight USB Mass Storage Device. The Wizard should guide you the rest of the way.
you need the mother board chipset driver properly installed
as the chipset handles all input / output including the USB ports
once the motherboard driver is installed the ipod will be seen as a mass storage device by xp
BTW you did install itunes correct?
